Scrappy Braided Flower
On Cherie’s last post, Ruffle Butt Bloomers, she said she had some fabric scraps leftover and asked what she should do with them. A few of you said to make rolled roses.

These are a different take to the rolled roses.
I had my 16-year-old niece over for a sleep over and craft night and she came up with this super cute Scrappy Braided Flower!
Cut your fabric into three strips.
The length depends on how big you want your flower to be.
Mine is about 1 1/2″ wide and my strips were about 18″.

Then tie a knot in one end.
Now place the knotted end under something heavy or under a piece of strong tape.
Now start braiding!

When your braid is finished, tie a tight knot at the end.
Cut off the excess.
This is the knot you will be gluing down in the next step.

Now get out your felt circle (I get mine from The Ribbon Retreat all pre-cut!)
Put hot glue on the end of your braid and put it in the middle of the felt circle.

Put hot glue around the felt circle, guiding your braid around and gluing it down.
If your braid comes off the circle, you can put hot glue on the edge of the flower and continue going around.
When you get to the end, you can glue your knot to the side.
I love this scrappy look and it’s so cute on everything!
Now if you do a tighter braid, it looks just as cute!
